Demore Barnes Cast as Firestorm Villain on The Flash

As we get closer to the season two premiere of our favorite show, The Flash, more news and details are coming out about what we can expect in the second year of the fastest man alive. Today, it was reported by our good friend Russ Burlingame of ComicBook.com that actor Demore Barnes (12 Monkeys) has been cast in the role of Henry Hewitt who is known in the DC Comics universe as the Firestorm villain Tokamak and here is how The CW describes The Flash version of the character:

“A charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash.  When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.”

While they did not specify what episode he will be featured in, he is listed at IMDb to appear in the fourth episode of the season, but that has yet to be confirmed. It also remains to be seen whether or not Firestorm will be featured in that episode, but hopefully he will be as it would be a lot of fun to see a Firestorm themed episode where he gets to go up against a character from his own rogue gallery. If you want to learn more about Tokamak, make sure to visit our good friends at FirestormFan.com that has a great profile on him as well as other coverage on the character.

The casting of Barnes as Tokamak joins the list of previously announced DC characters like Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), Patty Spivot (Shantel VanStanten), Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), Adam Copeland as the Atom-Smasher as well as Doctor Light who has yet to be cast. If you haven’t seen them already, make sure to check out the two new promos that were released last week for season two of The Flash with “Catch Me” and “Coming Fast”

The Flash is set to premiere its second season on Tuesday October 6, 8/7c on The CW.
