The Flash has introduced several of the parent figures on the show, with the Allen, West, Ramon, Wells family members, but next week it’s all about the Snow family. After the airing of “The New Rogues”, The CW aired a new promo for episode five “Monsters” which will be introducing Caitlin’s mother, Carla Tannhauser, who is being played by Teen Wolf’s Susan Walters.
This episode also marks as the directorial debut for Kim Miles who is the director of photography on the show. “Monsters” also marks as Zack Stentz’s first episode of the third season who wrote Kevin Smith’s episode “The Runaway Dinosaur” in Season 2 and has now joined the series as a consultiing producer this year!

CAITLIN CALLS ON HER MOTHER FOR HELP WITH HER GROWING META POWERS — Desperate to understand what is happening to her, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) visits her mother, Dr. Tannhauser (guest star Susan Walters), a renowned biomedical researcher, in the hopes that her mother can provide some answers about Caitlin’s growing meta-human powers. However, when Dr. Tannhauser treats her daughter like a test subject, Caitlin grows cold and brings up past wounds causing the two to have a major blowout. Meanwhile, after a mysterious new meta-human attacks Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) tries to convince Julian (Tom Felton) to let him assist on the case.
