We at The Flash Podcast have been staying busy with all the latest at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, and with more studios and networks taking the spotlight this year, there was a lot of film and TV to cover. As we were in Ballroom 20 and Hall H all throughout the very hot and busy July event, here are all the big takeaways from SDCC 2025 in TV and Movie!
Peacemaker Returns…To The DCU

While Marvel Studios took a backseat this year, DC Studios brought the next adventure of the DCU, as we are going back to HBO Max, with Peacemaker season 2! Making their Hall H debut, the Peacemaker cast and James Gunn took the stage on Saturday to discuss more about how the new season fits into the DCU franchise.
One of the big teases for the upcoming season are the changes for our core characters, with Gunn sharing the following during the panel:
“One of the things I wanted to make sure we did was that — I really like TV shows where the characters don’t just return every season as the same exact characters. I want to see growth, I want to see change, and sometimes regression. Peacemaker is a different guy this year. He’s dealing with the demons he uncovered from the first season.
And the world is not accepting him the way he is. The world is not accepting him as a hero. He’s in love with Emilia Harcourt and she’s not accepting him. So he’s not getting anything he wants, and he discovers a parallel dimension through the quantum unfolding chamber. And he thinks it’s the perfect universe. And that’s the beginning of the story, and it goes from there.”
One big topic that was addressed – or more so teased – was how the series is making sense in the DCU despite starting the DCEU era. Well, according to Gunn, this is how he is looking at it:
“I don’t remember for sure, but I think it was just a place where he could keep his helmets. It wasn’t gonna be as important as it became when I first wrote it. No, it’s often like people are like, ‘the old Peacemaker was in the DCEU, and the new Peacemaker…’ I’m like, was he really in the DCEU? I mean, there’s Bat-Mite, there’s all these other things that were happening. There’s Green Arrow, all these things that weren’t… I think the first Peacemaker was stuck in between, you know, dimensions, and nothing was quite present. So this is just trying to bring him into our world.”
While we in the Hall H audience got to witness exclusive footage, DC Studios didn’t leave you fans at home empty-handed, as they also debuted the season 2 trailer at SDCC 2026 – check it out below!
Marvel’s Ultimate Universe Is Ending – AGAIN!

After two years of telling a new Spider-Man tale, as well as giving a different take on several Marvel legends, SDCC 2025 came with the reveal that the Ultimate Universe is setting up its own endgame, pun intended. First, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #24 marks the conclusion of Jonathan Hickman’s beloved take on this new Peter Parker.
However, there is more: Ultimate Endgame was revealed as an upcoming 5-part event that will finish this continuity…and THE MAKER is coming back!

During the panel, Deniz Camp opened up about bidding the upcoming finale,
“This is the craziest and most impactful crossover [I’ve worked on],” Camp said. “I’m really excited about it. It’s all the characters: everyone coming together in this big way, coming up against each other in a big way, and the resolution of some long plot threads we’ve all been seeing. It’s very big, very dramatic, and with the Ultimate Universe, we can change the world. We can actually do it as creators because we have this incredible playground that Marvel has not just allowed, but encouraged us, to use. It’s such an honor to do something like this. It’s been amazing, and this is the culmination of a lot of what we’ve been doing together.”
Pennywise Is Back!
We are literally returning to Derry, but long before the events of the IT movies! During the It: Welcome to Derry panel, Andy Muschietti and the cast of the HBO drama disclosed how the prequel series will elaborate more on the rich history of the iconic monster.
A new teaser was also unveiled, seeing Taylour Page’s character and her family having just moved to Derry, noticing that something is not quite what it seems…The first ten minutes were also shown to the audience, following Matthew Clemments, who is attempting to run away.
The Star Trek Universe Takes Hall H With Storm!
Star Trek is stronger and bigger than ever, as the franchise took Hall H with a special screening of the next episode for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds!
However, there was more, as we got our first look at Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, another series in the franchise that expands this beloved property. See the trailer above!

Yes, Coyote vs. Acme LIVES!

Saturday morning brought Coyote vs. Acme to Hall H, after a long campaign of the film getting revived despite WBD shelving it for a tax write-off. The panel came with gratitude, as star Will Forte spoke to the audience, thanking them for fighting for the film: “The real hero of this movie is all of you guys sitting in those seats. Like Wile E. Coyote, you guys were an underdog who fought against a major corporation, and because you never gave up, this movie is now going to come out in wide global release.” while also debuting a teaser trailer for the film.
HOWEVER, an “Acme Attorney” (who happened to look a lot like P.J. Byrne!) had attempted to shut the panel down.
In An Hall H Panel Far, Far Away – GEORGE LUCAS!

Star Wars happened because of George Lucas, and on Sunday morning, the iconic Hollywood filmmaker took the stage at Hall H, to showcase his upcoming Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, as this was the first time he had ever attended SDCC!
Lucas received a standing ovation for his appearance, with the filmmaker also sharing words that couldn’t be truer about the beauty of art and stories: “It’s more about a connection with the work, not how much it costs or what celebrity did it, it’s more a personal thing… if you have an emotional connection to something, that’s art,”
That is it for us at SDCC 2025 – see you in 2026!
