It’s literally a giant Flash Tuesday today because we have even more Flash news for Season 2 of The Flash. Just a little bit after the announcement that Violett Beane had been cast as DC Comics’ Jesse Quick, an iconic character in the Flash mythology, Entertainment Weekly’s terrific Natalie Abrams broke the news that we will be seeing a familiar face back on the show in season two and it’s none other than Linda Park!
Malese Jow, who came into the show for a few episodes in season one of The Flash as sport reporter for Central City Picture News, is said to be returning for multiple episodes and while it wasn’t revealed when exactly she will be showing up, executive producer/show-runner Gabrielle Stanton did give this little information to Abrams about Park’s return:
“Linda Park will return as Iris West’s [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger,”
Now what could this unexpected danger be all about? Either way, it’s great to know that we will still see Linda around and hopefully for some more sweet interaction with Iris and who knows, maybe even with Wally West? While they may not get married like in the comic books, it would still be nice to see maybe a friendship between Wally and Linda come to life, since Wally is going to be most likely a few years younger than Linda.
Whatever happens, it will be nice to see Jow back as Linda! This casting news comes after the announcement of Beane as Jesse Quick as well as Demore Barnes as Firestorm villain Tokamak. Only six weeks away from the epic season two premiere!
The Flash is set to premiere its second season on Tuesday October 6, 8/7c on The CW.
